About Crafty Crow's Creation
I am a Goddess worshiping, tree huggin', environmentally conscious, crafting fanatic. I like many crafts, and my interests are many and widely varied. I move from craft to craft, learning all I can about the old arts. What I craft extra of can be found here to purchase. Your support helps me to craft more as creating is what makes life worth living. :)
I have a special affinity towards Crows and they are one of my totems. And so my store's name reflects that.
One of my most favorite things to create are INTUITIVE paintings. The process is fairly simple but yields a creative bang in the end. I spread paint around, quite haphazardly in the beginning, shmoosh it around a bit and then let it dry. It's really quite fun to do! Often I will have a thought or feeling that I focus on while starting this initial phase of the project. Once the background is dry, I look for clues or images to pop up from the paint. More times than not, I see something and that something is what I build the painting off of. Sometimes I don't see anything right away, so it'll sit around for a while until somethings shows. I once had one site around for nearly a month, and then I glanced at it while doing something else, and there was something there I hadn't seen before!
Once I see something, I am COMPELLED by a very strong urge to complete it and bring it to the surface. I don't know how else to describe it because it really is a push. I can't just wait till later. It has to be NOW. Some of them come out a bit more abstract that others. And I'm okay with that. It is what it's meant to be. I am sure if you feel the same pull towards one, then you were meant to have it. That's happened to me more than once with art. I once found a spirit doll online from another independent crafter/creator that I was just enthralled with. I had to have it, but the price was a bit prohibitive. The lady was so kind and let me make payments on it every payday so that I could bring Her home. She was "She Who Accepts and Welcomes Change". Oh how ironic for me. She now sits above my work area and presides over all that is done. Who knows, maybe she is my catalyst for these paintings?
All of my items come from a four-legged and smoke free home. I do have a bird so if you have allergies to bird dust, just let me know and I can give your items an extra good wiping down with a Swiffer cloth.

Who am I? |
As of 2015, I am a 37 years young, independent artist and adventure seeker. I love all things outdoors and I am a solar powered being. I like to think of myself as open minded, but as with all Beings, I am still learning. My one motto is "If it ain't fun, it ain't worth doing." and rings true in all aspects of my life. Life is too short to spend it doing something that is simply not fun. If it ain't fun, make it fun. If that isn't possible, time to move on.
I'd love to say my day job is creating Art to sell, but alas, not so. However, I do love my Day Job as a Paratransit Specialist in the school bus industry. I am unable to bare children and I am not so upset about that. I have plenty of children to take care of through my day-job. It was meant to be. I'm still looking for that special someone to share my life with. Maybe someday, when the time is right. |
In 2014 I found a Sparrow's nest destroyed behind one of the local coffee houses I regularly visit, raided by a Starling, and the helpless two-three day old babies on the pavement in the full sun. I promptly scooped them up and took them home to raise and release. All three were successfully released.
My many adventures. |
